Here are my 6 Thoughts on this afternoon’s NFC Divisional playoff game between the Saints and 49ers.
1. The 49ers have been the surprise team this NFL season.
2. Jim Harbaugh is easily the coach of the year in his first season as an NFL head coach.
3. This isn’t the NFL of five or six years ago where defense wins championships.
4. The Packers and Patriots both have home field advantage and both have the worst defenses in the NFL.
5. Nobody….not even the ’85 Bears can hold Drew Brees to under 24 points. (lowest totals this season were 20 points and 21 points)
6. The Saints defense isn’t great, but Brees is therefore he’s going to easily outscore Alex Smith.
