If Walter Payton would have lived, he’d be 58 years old today. It’s fitting that Payton’s astrological sign was Leo, because he was the King of Running backs when he left the game. How do you get the nickname “Sweetness” in a game that’s all about toughness and determination…..because that’s exactly how he played the game — with toughness and determination. Walter Payton was the definition of a football player in it’s truest, most beautiful form. There was nothing pretty about Payton’s running style, and that was sweet.
