…as a producer. I know everyone “knows” about Pimp C but it’s almost a customary ritual at this point to state your appreciation rather than truly dive into his work. While J Dilla is lionized, and for good reason, Pimp C’s production has been overshadowed posthumously by his expansive personality and his iconic verses. Southern Rap Nerds know but for the most part his production skills haven’t been appreciated by the mainstream despite the efforts of Big K.R.I.T.
