So…about five minutes after Michael Sam was drafted, it was announced that he will have a reality TV show on Oprah’s OWN network. Here’s what I have to say about it.
1. My bad…they’re calling it a documentary, but in reality…it’s a reality show.
2. This shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone this day in age because everyone has a reality show.
3. This deal with the OWN network was in place before Sam was drafted.
4. Sam stated after the draft he wished everyone would stop focusing on his sexuality. Is that what he really wants, because this reality show deal being in place before he was ever drafted says otherwise.
5. Even though this isn’t the traditional endorsement deal, it’s a good insurance policy for Sam should he not make the St. Louis Rams’ roster.
6. If you thought the Tebow coverage was a bit too much, then this is really going to bother you.
