Dopest Free Agency Signings of All-Time

Dopest Free Agency Signings of All-Time

NFL Free Agency kicks off at 2pm ET. With Mike Wallace, Ed Reed, Reggie Bush and more all free to go wherever they please, we figured we’d wrangle up a list together and see who were the dopest NFL free agent signings of all-time.

9. Curtis Martin – New York Jets

Curtis Martin didn’t give a damn about the New York vs. Boston rivalry when he left the New England Patriots and signing a poison pill contract with the New York Jets.

8. Priest Holmes – Kansas City Chiefs

No one cared who Priest was…he wasn’t even drafted coming out of Texas. After Kansas City on fire for three seasons and was the best running back in the league.

7. Charles Woodson – Green Bay Packers

Woodson’s career was considered over. He was washed up and on his way out of the league soon if you asked the Raiders. What did Woodson do? He got healthy, signed with the Green Bay Packers won defensive player of the year and won a Super Bowl. Got ‘em coach.

6. Peyton Manning – Denver Broncos

He hasn’t fulfilled his destiny yet, because it’s Super Bowl or bust, but Peyton was definitely the biggest and most shocking free agent ever. Yeah, bigger than Joe Montana bro.

5. Rich Gannon – Oakland Raiders

Rich Gannon put the Raiders over the top, took them to a Super Bowl and won MVP.

4. Kurt Warner – Arizona Cardinals

I really can’t wait til the feel good movie on Kurt Warner’s life is made. I don’t care if it’s on Lifetime, I’m watching it. After the Rams gave up on him, after his babysitting stint with Eli Manning, the Cardinals signed him to do the same with Matt Leinhart. Well, Leinhart wasn’t ready and Kurt still had some juice left in the tank and took the Cardinals to the Super Bowl and almost won it.

3. Deion Sanders – San Francisco 49ers and Dallas Cowboys

You think #21 ain’t lucky? Deion Sanders signed with the 49ers and won defensive player of the year and the very next year signed another free agent deal with the Cowboys and won another Super Bowl. Back to back Super Bowls in two free agent deals. If that ain’t lucky….

2. Reggie White – Green Bay Packers

The Minister of Defense was a Godsend to football in free agency. It all started with him. Pay homage.

1. Drew Brees – New Orleans Saints

He signed with the Saints because the Chargers and Dolphins didn’t want him. What did he do? He uplifted an entire city and his son after he helped the Saints win their first Super Bowl.
