6 Thoughts: Is Nick Saban Underpaid

Forbes wrote a dope article, The Magic of Nick Saban, that raised the question of whether or not Nick Saban was underpaid.

1. The article is 100% correct.

2. Bama’s athletic department had a revenue of $124.5 million with $19.4 million profit according to USA Today. The football program accounted for two-thirds of the revenue.

3. No one is paying out of state tuition to the University of Alabama for their rocket science program. They’re going to Tuscaloosa because of the football team.

4. Where is the money for all the new buildings that are popping up on Alabama’s campus coming from? The increase in out-of-state student attendance which was 52% of the 2012 freshman class.

5. Do I think Nick Saban deserves a raise? No, but you can easily make a case for it.

6. The question shouldn’t be whether Nick Saban is underpaid or not, the question to ask is why aren’t student athletes being paid with all of the money that the football team is generating.

That’s all I got,
