Remember this Jadeveon Clowney hit from last year? Yeah, the NCAA just released a new rule that if a player “launches” or “targets” another player it will result in a 15 yard penalty and that player will be ejected from the game. Here are my thoughts.
1. In the NFL, you get a penalty and a fine after the game for an illegal hit.
2. The NCAA’s new rule will get you ejected from the game? WTF….
3. Clowney’s hit wasn’t done to a defenseless player, it was a running back.
4. You think games in college football were high scoring last year? The scoreboard this year is going to look like an NBA All-Star game.
5. Wait a minute. If a player is ejected in the second half of the game, he will also have to sit out the first half of the next game he plays? Ok, now this is ridiculous.
6. I’m all for making the game safer, but this is going to far. A 15 yard penalty is more than enough. I know you can’t fine college kids, but if they need more punishment have the player sit out for a series.
That’s all I got,
