Last Thursday, Jonathan Bostic, the Bears rookie linebacker taking over for Brian Urlacher destroyed a Chargers WR. It got his team fired up and woke up the defense. It also got NFL’s attention and they decided to fine Bostic $21K for a what was clearly a legal hit. Here are my thoughts.

1. So, Jonathan Bostic’s hit was illegal?

2. What was illegal about it? Did he hit him too hard?

3. There was no helmet to helmet contact.

4. D.J. Swearinger’s hit that could have possibly ended Dustin Keller’s career warranted no fine.

5. Is this the new NFL?

6. If you were catching a pass over the middle would you rather get a concussion or a torn ACL?
