The first full week of NFL and college football. Thank you Jesus. Here are my quick hits and jukes from this weekend’s action.
Oregon vs. Virginia
Everyone thought the early start and time difference would throw the Ducks off. They covered the spread like Deion Sanders with ease.
San Diego State vs. Ohio State
The Buckeyes put up 42 points without Braxton Miller. Impressive Urban, very impressive.
South Carolina State vs. Clemson
I paid no attention to this game and I’d like my time back for watching the highlights.
San Jose State vs. Stanford
Stanford is going to be a problem this year.
South Carolina vs. Georgia
Wait what? Mark Richt won a big game. Yes, these are the end times.
Sam Houston State vs. Texas A&M
These early season FCS vs. FBS games are the worst.
UAB vs. LSU
Yes, it was a sorry UAB team, but Zach Mettenberger has looked good these first two weeks.
Florida vs. Miami
I’m not used to witnessing bad quarterback play at the University of Florida.
UTSA vs. Oklahoma State
Sure OSU won, but they let UTSA put up 35 points on them?
Notre Dame vs. Michigan
Big Blue might be back. The Ohio State vs. Michigan game might be the best in quite some time.
Texas vs. BYU
Goodness gracious. Mack Brown is holding on like a prize fighter past his prime.
West Virginia vs. Oklahoma
It looks like Mike Stoops is comfortable again back in Norman. The defense is stone cold bruh.
Syracuse vs. Northwestern
Give the Wildcats sometime. They’ll be a mini-me of Stanford in about two years.
Tennessee Tech vs. Wisconsin
Oh an FCS team playing a slow outdated Big Ten team…yeah, I didn’t watch this.
Southern Miss vs. Nebraska
Didn’t watch a lick of this game either.
Buffalo vs. Baylor
It’s crazy that Baylor and Vanderbilt are viable FBS teams and Texas and Tennessee are struggling.
Washington State vs. USC
We can’t blame the NCAA sanctions forever. Lane Kiffin just isn’t a good coach.
NFL
Ravens vs. Broncos
7 TDs from Peyton Manning?!?! If I loved fantasy football I’d be pissed, because I guarantee you I wouldn’t have drafted him.
Patriots vs. Bills
I swear, every year the Bills have the Pats on the rope and allowed them to get out of Orchard Park with a victory.
Bengals vs. Bears
Super Bowl preview? Don’t you dare laugh at me.
Dolphins vs. Browns
Brandon Weeden is not it. Colt McCoy was. Wish they would have given that kid a chance.
Vikings vs. Lions
Adrian Peterson is unreal. 78 yard touchdown on his first carry of the season with no touches in the preseason.
Colts vs. Raiders
Great game. Can we please give Andrew Luck his props for being an athlete. Terrelle Pryor, I see you. Just work hard and you will succeed.
Falcons vs. Saints
Sean Payton and Drew Brees are second only to Bill Belichick and Tom Brady.
Bucs vs. Jets
No one will remember LaVonte David’s 8 tackles, 1 sack and 1 interception. They’ll remember him pushing Geno Smith out of bounds and essentially hand delivering the victory to the Jets.
Titans vs. Steelers
The Steelers are middle aged and no one wants to call them out.
Seahawks vs. Panthers
12-7? Yeah, I was not expecting only 19 points.
Chiefs vs. Jaguars
Andy Reid, the Quarterback Whisperer.
Cardinals vs. Rams
Honey Badger looks good on that NFL field. He’s a walking big play waiting to happen.
Packers vs. 49ers
I pray that these two teams meet in the playoffs. The best football game all weekend.
Giants vs. Cowboys
The G-Men put up 31 points and turned the ball over six times. They’ll be fine.
