The quarterback that was supposed to solidify the Noles future quarterback needs is still on the board as Florida State did not receive a letter of intent from Winston today. There are a lot of issues surrounding the recruitment of Winston. Stanford has a made a late surge and now that Winston didn’t ink with the Noles – the Cardinal, it seems, have a legitimate shot to land the Alabama gunslinger. This story, however is not only a Stanford vs FSU battle, Winston will most surely be drafted high in this years coming MLB draft. Whatever school he signs with will have to keep recruiting Winston through the summer in order to get him on campus. Lastly, FSU has already signed a QB in this class with Sean McGuire out of New Jersey. Stanford on the other hand did not sign a quaterback this year. Will the allure of playing in front of what could possibly be the best O-line class in recent memory be enough to sway Winston? Time will tell ………. but then again ….. baseball money is long so we may not know for some time where Winston will end up.
