Monday Morning Cornerback: Week 6

This was a great weekend for football. College football was more turnt up than a 2Chainz concert and the NFL shows why it’s the best sports league week in and week out. Here are my quick cuts and jukes from this weekends football action.

Oregon vs. Washington

Oregon is in cruise control right now until they play USC.

Florida State vs. NC State

It seems like bad things always happen when the Seminoles are on a national championship hunt and they travel to Raleigh and play FSU. That’s four times that FSU has traveled to NC State ranked and lost.

Georgia vs. South Carolina

How the hell does Georgia have the best QB in the SEC and the best RBs and only score 7 points. The South Carolina defense might be better than Alabama’s.

LSU vs. Florida

If LSU’s defense ever matches it’s offense. Seems like we’ve been saying that for five years now. Great win for Florida in this defensive struggle match in the SEC.

Iowa State vs. TCU

How does the #15th ranked team lose by 14 at home? Their starting QB gets caught driving drunk and the coach suspends him for the game, that’s how.

Oklahoma vs. Texas Tech

Coming into the game, Bob Stoops was 18-0 after a loss…now he’s 19-0. Nothing else to see here folks.

Oregon State vs. Washington State

I’m telling you now…Oregon State is going to beat Oregon.

Nebraska vs. Ohio State

This was a game…until Ohio State realized they were playing in a game…and turned it up on the black shirt defense.

West Virginia vs. Texas

Everyone expected Texas to roll…but WVU is the real deal. They get cast off athletes from south Florida so just because WVU came from the Big East doesn’t mean they are chumps. The thing about this game is that they didn’t kill Texas through the air but on the ground with Andrew Buie going over 200 yards.

Miami vs. Notre Dame

Catholics vs. Convicts in 2012. Miami is not the same and will not be for a long time. Phillip Dorsett killed Miami with two dropped touchdown passes. The Irish is undefeated but I’m not drinking the Kool aid til they play Stanford, OU and USC.

Georgia Tech vs. Clemson

Not sure how GA Tech kept this game close and why the hell are they playing in Russell Athletic jerseys?

Mississippi State vs. Kentucky

The Bulldogs are undefeated, but they are also fools gold.

Kansas vs. Kansas State

Umm the Wildcats are 5-0, but I just don’t believe them. They still have to play Texas and West Virginia.

USC vs. Utah

Everyone thought this was USC’s year, but honestly they are about a year away and that’s if whoever replaces Matt Barkley can ball.

Arizona vs. Stanford

Stepfan Taylor is a better running back than Marcus Latimore.

Connecticut vs. Rutgers

C’mon…did you really think I watched this game? I noticed Rutgers’ uniforms were fly though.

Northwestern vs. Penn State

The Wildcats lost to a Division II Penn State team. Not good at all.

UCLA vs. Cal

Inconsistent Cal. They look like world beaters one week and and world chumps the next. The world beaters showed up this week and gave UCLA the business.

NFL

Cardinals vs. Rams

Just give Sam Bradford a few more weapons please.

Dolphins vs. Bengals

Ryan Tannehill is turning more heads than his wife right now.

Packers vs. Colts

Fate. You can’t deny or fight fate. ChuckStrong.

Ravens vs. Chiefs

The Chiefs fans should be ashamed of themselves. Who cares if Matt Cassell sucks. If he’s on the ground seriously injured, please have some class and don’t cheer.

Browns vs. Giants

I feel sorry for the entire Cleveland sports fan base…from football, basketball and even baseball. Every team sucks. Victor Cruz with the hat trick.

Eagles vs. Steelers

Michael Vick is standing in the way of the Eagles’ first Super Bowl win. It’s a different game if he doesn’t fumble inside the redzone early.

Falcons vs. Redskins

RGIII…slide! I won’t get excited about Mattey Ice til I see him do it in the playoffs.

Seahawks vs. Panthers

Cam Newton = sophomore slump. Did success go to his head or was last year just a fluke?

Bears vs. Jaguars

Will the Jags just move to L.A. already. Well…Blaine Gabbert is not passing the eyeball test and that normally means you’re just not that good.

Titans vs. Vikings

Adrian Peterson and Chris Johnson are running in entirely different directions in this point of their careers.

Broncos vs. Patriots

What’s up with the Broncos and all these slow starts? Geesh…Usain Bolt has a better start than the Broncos. The Patriots have a running game….the rest of the NFL is trouble.

Bills vs. 49ers

We’re the Bills supposed to be good this year?

Chargers vs. Saints

Sean Payton must be some kind of good luck charm huh…

That’s all I got,

Ricky Writer
