Tonight, NFL Draft hopefuls will be waiting to hear their names called and find out where they will be spending the beginning of their careers. Unlike college, top prospects can’t decide where they’re going to play professional football out of the gate, but they can decide which footwear giants they’ll endorse. See which players signed with Nike, adidas, Under Armour and…wait for it….Puma.
Nike signees:
Johnny Manziel, QB Texas A&M
Teddy Bridgewater, QB Louisville
Blake Bortles, QB UCF
Mike Evans, WR Texas A&M
Odell Beckham Jr., WR LSU
Anthony Barr, OLB UCLA
Eric Ebron
adidas signees:
Sammy Watkins, WR Clemson
Carlos Hyde, RB Ohio State
Under Armour signees:
Marqise Lee, WR USC
Jace Amaro, TE Texas Tech
Andre Williams, RB Boston College
Puma:
Jadeveon Clowney, DE South Carolina
Nike won signing the top three quarterbacks in this year’s class. They took a loss not getting Sammy Watkins, but I truly think that Odell Beckham Jr. will be the best WR in this class. Under Armour did what it normally does and signed players that wore the brand in college with Williams and Amaro. Signing Amaro could be a huge win for UA because of today’s pass happy NFL game featuring tight ends more. Puma is making a big splash signing Jadeveon Clowney which is a huge loss for Under Armour especially since he wore UA in college. Clowney can’t wear Puma cleats (if they make football cleats) on the field during games, but this could be huge for future draft picks if Puma markets Clowney well.
