Nike Football Society – “The Draft”

Nike Football Society – “The Draft”

Last season, the Nike Football Society, which is the Bentley truck of flag football leagues, set the bar playing in New York’s Lower East Side. The league featured eight teams overflowing with the Gotham’s finest tastemakers and influencers that love football. The season ended with the championship game being played at the New York Giants practice facility.

With the way last season ended, you knew Nike was cooking up something special for this season. The Swoosh made sure they swept the floor with other flag football leagues and held a draft. Yes, The Draft, the first annual Nike Football Society draft was held at the Best Buy Theater last Thursday. Nike went all out with a red carpet and fans outside waiting to get signed memorabilia from current and future Nike Football Society members.

The eight Nike Football Society teams were allowed to keep four players from the previous season with the last season’s players and new players being thrown into the draft pool. With the first pick, the 99 Cent Dreamers selected Earl Powell making him the first to shake hands and hold his jersey up with Commissioner Christian Grant-Fields.

The second NFS season starts September 5th at the Murry Bergtraum Verizon High School Athletic Field. Make sure you check it out. Here are some pics from The Draft below.
